AJCC Cancer Staging Manual, Sixth Edition

The Sixth Edition will go into affect with
cancer cases diagnosed beginning
January 1, 2003
The Sixth Edition made its debut at the American Society of Clinical Oncology
(ASCO) meeting on May 18-21, 2002 in Orlando, Florida. The fully revised
and updated Sixth Edition includes all currently available information
on the staging of cancer at various anatomic sites and incorporates newly
acquired knowledge on the etiology and pathology of cancer. All of the
TNM staging information included in the Sixth Edition is uniform between
the AJCC and the International Union Against Cancer (UICC). The Handbook
version contains the entire text of the Manual, except for the staging
forms and CD-ROM. Visit www.cancerstaging.net,

AJCC Cancer Staging Manual, Sixth Edition (PDA Version)
The AJCC is currently developing a PDA version of the AJCC Cancer Staging
Manual, Sixth Edition that will serve as an adjunct to the text, and would
provide TNM information to physicians at the point-of-care. The features
of the initial version will include displays of TNM definitions and stage
groupings for all sites and calculations of TNM stage. The upgraded version
would include staging forms for completion at point-of-care along with
selected text and illustrations.
