This section of our site is devoted to identifying specific characteristics and properties of acinic cell carcinoma (and its’ related cancers). We have been building a database of ACC characteristics since 1999. Many of these are characteristics or properties described in the literature. Other properties come from tissue tests we have run, or that others have run and told us about. Our third source of data will be the Surveys that we are taking on this website. We will be adding data from those sources as it comes in. Please help us out by filling out a survey, if you have not already done so.

We have taken all the data from these various sources and plugged them into a spreadsheet/table. When viewing that table, you can see:

  • WHAT the identified characteristic is.
  • WHO identified the characteristic.
  • WHERE the characteristic was identified.
  • WHEN the characteristic was identified or reported.
  • WHICH OTHER cancers share this characteristic (as described in the source material). (There may be others that are not recognized or noted yet.)

BY identifying all these characteristics, we hope to:

  1. Provide information that might spark ideas for specific avenues of research.

  2. Identify treatment options for OTHER cancers, that MAY be applicable to acinic cell carcinoma, based on the shared characteristics.

If you are a RESEARCHER, and find this information useful, or have a suggestion or idea for a research path based on this data, PLEASE LET US KNOW. Even if you cannot undertake the research yourself, we would like to hear your thoughts. Please email us with your ideas.
If you are a PHYSICIAN, and see a cancer that shares properties with acinic cell carcinoma, and think that this indicates a treatment option that might be applicable, please email us with those suggestions.

To view our database of Acinic Cell Carcinoma Characteristics/Properties/and Similarities to Other Cancers, we currently have two options.  The quickest is to view the TABLE HERE. But it was last updated in October, 2002. And the version currently viewable has a few minor formatting annoyances. To view more recent/current (and better formatted) databases, you can DOWNLOAD THE DATABASES as Excel files. You have choice of MAC or PC versions.  Click the desired option below.
